~This is Fiction~

Last night the HappyDoll team went to see the InViolet play, THIS IS FICTION.

Our very good friends from InViolet Rep,  Erin, Sam, Melanie, and Michelle have supported our organization by volunteering at HappyDoll sessions and events such as the session at the Korean American Family Service Center, ABC after-school programs in Harlem,  and most recently the Central Park Challenge.

They are supporting us once again, but this time through theater.

The performance was absolutely amazing! It was smart, funny, moving, and most of all convincing. The script was very well written, and the actors' talents bring these characters to life with so much depth! It stars our friend and founder of InViolet Rep, Michelle David, along with other amazing actors such as Richard Masur who can be seen this season on HBO's "Girls".

A portion of the proceeds from last night's show was donated to HappyDoll.  Erin and Michelle made such a lovely announcement on stage about our organization, and we received so many interests after the show in the lobby.

We can't express in words how much we want you to see this play! You REALLY don't want to miss it. Lucky for you, THIS IS FICTION goes on till JUNE 30TH!

Here's a little bit about the play:

Amy is on the verge of having her first novel published, but before she does, she has to break the news to her family that it’s not entirely fiction.  When she shows up at her childhood home in New Jersey, it’s time to tell the truth.  Fiction is easy. Life is hard.
